A business registration is an annual business tax for conducting business within the Town of Colma. The town of Colma Municipal Code requires all businesses that will conduct business within the Town of Colma (even outside based businesses entering the city to conduct business) to first procure a license and comply with any and all applicable regulations concerning the use and occupancy of the premises from which the business is to be conducted (Section 4.01.030).

  • If you prepare or sell food, contact San Mateo County.
  • If using a fictitious name or dba, contact San Mateo County.
  • If you buy or sell, tangible goods contact the State Board of Equalization.
  • If you need an employer tax ID contact the I.R.S. and Franchise Tax Board.

You are required to register your business within 30 days of the commencement of business in the Town of Colma. Penalties will apply if applications are received after this 30-day period. Thereafter, business registrations renew every year on January and no later than January 31st. Business Registrations renewed after this period will also be subject to penalties.
